Mr. Blood was the wholesale agent for Lallemand's Specific, a bogus patent medicine that claimed to treat rheumatism, gout, and neuralgia.  He obtained store card tokens from Cincinnati token maker John Stanton.  Two custom dies were prepared and struck on copper planchets for circulation.  The copper tokens are rare.  This brass specimen is extremely rare.  Though omitted from the NGC Census, it appears to be the highest graded token certified by NGC.
