, this saw is much more safe than normal chainsaw, it is designed to use the tip for intricate work even detailed carving work without the huge risk of kickback a normal chainsaw would produce, this and any chainsaw can still kickback but it is drastically reduced in this configuration.
These are a really great saw, we use them extensively for professional work and we feel they are one of the best saws ever made by anyone because of the power to weight ratio and at these prices they are almost disposable. Most "hot saws" mean they modify the engine beyond what the saw can handle, our saws are HOT meaning they cut 50% faster than stock and last 50% longer than stock factory saws because they don't work as hard to cut the same log.
We do NOT modify the engine to produce more horse power, more HP is NOT the secret to making a saw cut well. Stihl has done a fine job of maximizing HP from any given engine size, if you want more HP get a bigger saw.

Saws do NOT need more horse power they just need someone with the correct parts and knowledge to set them up correctly, a true hot saw is a saw that cuts faster NOT a saw with more horse power. If you want to enter a drag race you should buy lots of horse power, if you want to cut logs with a chainsaw you should buy light weight.
