    Description

Here is an Acorn Curved Model stairlift. This is for a staircase that makes a turn (has a landing). Installation of this type is more complicated than a straight model, and will be discussed shortly. I am selling the disassembled stairlift (all parts) for 1400 (1000 plus the 400 disassembly fee charged by Acorn). To re-install the unit Acorn charges 1000 plus parts. Because curved staircases require exact parts, you will doubtless have to purchase some, since staircases differ and are not uniform. Normal cost for re-purchasing track parts is -6000. So your total cost for an installed working unit would be in the range of 4400 to 8400 dollars, not including Service Contract. We paid 12000 for this unit and currently a new one is more like 13000. I can't say, to the penny, what getting this stairlift up and running would cost, but want to be totally transparent about it. The cost is still most likely about half a new one. This unit is a bit over 4 yrs old and the motherboard (brain) was replaced a year ago. The user died in April and at that time it was working perfectly, better than it ever had. If you have Acorn install the unit, they will back it up with a Service Contract, which is insurance costing a few hundred per year. If you buy the parts, U must haul them, and the chair itself is a bit heavy, probably 60 lbs. Photos are of the unit when it was working, prior to being taken apart. Serial #110402641235.
